From April through October, visitors can take guided or self-guided tours of the fort and museum. Historical interpreters, dressed in period clothing, are on hand to provide all kinds of historic demonstrations, discuss the history of the fort, and answer any questions. Come discover a part of Ohio history you never knew was here!
The visitor center and museum are open year-round at a discounted rate.

“Off Highway 250, this African-themed resort with rides and waterslides is 5 miles from Lake Erie and 12 miles from Cedar Point amusement park. Opened in 2005, the Nature Center at the preserve offers various educational opportunities including a Lookout on Nature Area (LOONA), perfect for bird watching. While at the preserve, visit the Nature Playscape, the pollinator and sensory gardens.
Ready for Rental!
There’s two adjacent pickleball courts in the brand-new gym in the Heights Community Center.
Rental fee is $65 per hour. So, if you have eight people who want to play two concurrent games of doubles, it will cost only $8 per hour per person to rent. They’ll waive the extra $1. Nets are supplied; you bring your rackets and pickleballs.

“Castaway Bay brings the Caribbean to Sandusky, Ohio. This indoor water park spans 38,000 square feet and features a 6,000 square foot arcade. White Star Beach/Quarry is located within White Star Park, including a campground, a scuba diving location, barn and cabins and a constructed wetland. Becoming even more popular in the summer of 2022 due to multiple posts on a Facebook group, ‘Ohio Road Trips’ because of it’s crystal clear waters, White Star Beach is a nice drive from Perrysburg and is open Noon-8pm in the summer. *hours may change
“Imagination Station is a non-profit, hands-on science museum located on the Maumee riverfront in downtown Toledo, Ohio. The facility has over 300 exhibits for “children of all ages.” The museum opened in 1997 as COSI.”

“Toledo Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located in the city of Toledo, Ohio. It is affiliated with the Metroparks of the Toledo Area. Originally consisting of 20acre donated by George P. Crosby to the City of Toledo, Toledo Botanical Garden now encompasses more than 50acre. Notable events include the Crosby Festival of the Arts, held in late June; and Heralding the Holidays, a seasonal celebration showcasing the numerous resident artistic guilds.”
